





Dumini Mehta, a fourth grader at College Gardens Elementary, joined Mayor Monique Ashton at the May 19 Mayor and Council meeting. Mehta read the essay she submitted in the annual “If I Were Mayor” contest, for which she earned the honor of serving as Rockville’s Mayor for a Day. On May 22, Mehta visited the Rockville City Police Department, the city’s new Taft Center offices and Croydon Creek Nature Center, and had lunch with the mayor. She also appeared in the city’s Memorial Day parade on May 26.
