Murder and Minivans, Seuss and Symbols: This Month at the F. Scott Theater

Poisonous old ladies and standup comedy lead the way to a Seussian musical and song and dance. That’s what’s happening in October at the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre.

  • “Arsenic and Old Lace,” presented by Rockville Little Theatre. 8 p.m. Oct. 4 and 5; 2 p.m. Oct. 6. The classic mystery-farce about two delightfully poisonous old ladies, their daffy nephew and an eccentric cast of madcap characters. Tickets are $22; $20 for seniors 62 and older, and students.
  • Jen Fulwiler: The Naughty Corner Tour. 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10. Sirius XM radio host Jen Fulwiler keeps crowds laughing with her standup comedy, drawn from her life as a minivan-driving mom of six young children. VIP/tier 1 tickets cost $60; tier 2, $35.
  • “Life,” presented by the Rockville Concert Band. 3 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 13. Celebrate the extraordinary in our common experiences with pieces depicting the beauty of everyday life. $5 suggested donation.
  • “Seussical,” presented by Rockville Musical Theatre. 8 p.m. Oct. 25 and 26, Nov. 1, 2, 8 and 9; 2 p.m. Nov. 3 and 10. Oh, the thinks you can think when Dr. Seuss’ best-loved characters collide and cavort in an unforgettable musical caper. Tickets cost $25; for seniors (62 and older) and students, $23.
  • The Tamburitzans present “Symbols — Expressions of Culture.” 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 27. A live two-hour event of music, song and dance celebrating cultures from around the globe. Tickets cost $40; $35 for seniors; $30 for students $30; and $25 for children.
