Boards and Commissions

Community members are encouraged to lend their time and expertise to a city board or commission. Boards and commissions provide the Mayor and Council with informed public opinions, thoughts and ideas that shape the city. Volunteer

The city offers opportunities to volunteer with the Community Services or Environmental Management divisions and Recreation and Parks Department, including through the Rockville Senior Center and teen programs. Learn more at www.rockvillemd.gov/volunteer.

Rockville City Academy

Rockville City Academy provides opportunities for residents to learn from the city’s senior staff about how the city operates and to tour city facilities. Learn more at www.rockvillemd.gov/academy.

Citizens Police Academy

Learn what it takes to be a city police officer, in this free coursethat includes hands-on training and a closer look at crime scene processing, firearms simulations, the K-9 unit, traffic law, detectives and investigations, and the bomb unit.
