Peerless Honors Preservation, Restoration and Education

Annual Awards Celebrate Rockville’s Heritage

The 38th annual Peerless Rockville awards ceremony, held Nov. 3 at Glenview Mansion at Rockville Civic Center Park, recognized efforts to preserve Rockville’s historic and architectural character. This year’s winners were:

  • Monsignor Robert Amey, Scott and Kammie Bell, and Kevin Daly, for preservation at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
  • Steve Edwards and Jill Timmons, of Adamswood LLC, for landscaping and stewardship of the Darby House, at 109 N. Adams St.
  • William and Michele Egan, owners, and John L. duFief, Inc., builder, for new construction at 210 Forest Ave.
  • Carloyn Oakford, Diana Locke, Gregory Lin, Janice Musselman and Ann English, for landscaping at Christ Episcopal Church.
  • The executive board of the Americana Centre Homeowners Association, for preservation advocacy for Americana Centre.
  • Rockville Sister City Corporation, in recognition of their 60th anniversary.
  • Rockville Little Theatre, in recognition of their 70th anniversary.

    Peerless also recognized Nina Clarke for her 100th birthday and her lifetime of contributions in history and education.
    Peerless Rockville is an award-winning, community-based nonprofit founded in 1974 to preserve buildings, objects and information important to Rockville’s heritage.
