Ready for Fall, Rockville Completes Several Park Projects

Six accessible parking spaces have been renovated at Dogwood Park.

The spaces at the 44-acre multiuse park, at 800 Monroe St., along with accessible routes to the playground, basketball courts and picnic pavilion, were adjusted.

The Promenade Park elevator near the Monroe Street and East Montgomery Avenue intersection has been replaced. The original elevator was constructed in 1998 and is the primary accessible route to access the Rockville Metro station from Rockville Town Center.

Additionally, the construction of the replacement playground at Rockcrest Park was completed and reopened for the neighborhood.

The city completed renovations to tennis courts at the Rockville Civic Center and Montrose Park, tennis and basketball courts at Dogwood Park, and basketball courts at Monument Park, and replaced backboards at Mattie J.T. Stepanek Park.
