Renovations Planned for Swim
and Fitness Center

Public Feedback Encouraged Through Online Survey

Plans to modernize and expand the Rockville Swim and Fitness Center’s locker room and lobby are underway.

Key elements of the project include increasing the size and capacity of the locker room; modernizing infrastructure and amenities; improving Americans with Disabilities Act compliance; providing family and gender-neutral locker room areas; and reconfiguring the lobby.

An open house in June allowed attendees to see a presentation of the conceptual design, review highlights of facility areas, talk to city staff and the design team, and provide feedback.

A survey to gather public input on the conceptual design is available at http://bit.ly/RSFCsurvey. Significant architectural and engineering work still has to be completed before final plans are ready to be submitted for permit approval and construction bids.

Rockville Swim and Fitness Center is a full-service aquatics, fitness and recreation facility located at 355 Martins Lane. The facility features two indoor and three outdoor pools along with a whirlpool and fitness and exercise room.
