Rockville Facilities to Close for New Year’s and MLK Day

Recycling and Trash Collected a Day Later During Holiday Weeks

City Hall and all city facilities will be closed for New Year’s Day on Tuesday, Jan. 1. City Hall and some facilities will also be closed for Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, Jan. 21.

Other city facilities will operate on the following schedule:

  • Croydon Creek Nature Center is closed Mondays and will open 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2.
  • Glenview Mansion is closed to the public for construction of a new Americans with Disabilities Act-accessible parking lot. Glenview offices are receiving telephone calls and emails.
  • The F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre box office will be open from 2-7 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and will be closed Jan. 1 and 21. The box office will resume regular hours Tuesday, Jan. 15. Tickets are always available at www.rockvillemd.gov/theatre.
  • Lincoln Park, Thomas Farm and Twinbrook community centers are open 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Dec. 31; closed Jan. 1; and open regular hours Jan. 2 and Jan. 21.
  • The Rockville Senior Center, including the fitness room, is closed Sundays, will open 7 a.m.-4 p.m. Dec. 31, and will be closed Jan. 1 and 21.
  • The Rockville Swim and Fitness Center will be open 6 a.m.-4 p.m. Dec. 31, closed Jan. 1 and open regular hours Jan. 21. Visit www.rockvillemd.gov/swimcenter for lap and program schedules.

Parking will be free on Jan. 1 and 21 at city-owned meters.
