Theater Closed Early September During Renovations

The F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre will be closed in early September while it undergoes several renovation projects, but that doesn’t mean a lack of entertainment.

Rockville Little Theatre will present six performances of “Jake’s Women,” Sept. 30, Oct. 1, 2, 7, 8 and 9, which is one of playwright Neil Simon’s lesser known works, but a gem of a show. Jake, a writer with an overly vivid imagination, faces a marital crisis by daydreaming about the women in his life.

Due to the renovations, the performance has been moved to the Jewish Community Center’s, Kreeger Auditorium. Please call 240-242-9735 to order single tickets.

  • Behind the theater, a new surface lot will significantly expand accessible parking options.
  • The social hall will be updated to provide enhanced space for meetings and events, as well as a new entryway for those using the rear parking lots.
  • The theater’s house will undergo roof reinforcement, allowing more flexibility for advanced lighting and sound technology.

The box office will be open throughout construction, noon-6 p.m., Monday-Friday.

Subscription packages for 2016-2017 are available for the following shows: “Jake’s Women,” Sept. 30-Oct. 9; “Shrek, the Musical,” Oct. 28-Nov. 13; “The Miracle Worker,” Feb. 3-12; “Book of Days,” May 5-14.

Subscribers save when they buy two, three or all four shows. Benefits include the same seat and a great view all season, savings over single tickets and complimentary exchanges. Packages start at $32.
